Sapphire Point Engagement Session - Lake Dillon Engagement Session - Breckenridge Engagement Photographer - Kat & Rich

I honestly can’t believe how long it has taken me to share this engagement session, but I am glad I am finally doing it, because Kat and Richard are finally getting married! They’ve been planning their Vail wedding for over a year now, and for one am so so excited to capture it!

This sunset engagement session at Sapphire Point took place at the end of 2018…I know...I don’t want to talk about how long it’s been. How has it taken me so long to share it you ask? Well, same reason I have yet to publish my epic 2019 round up (which is coming soon!) - I’ve been the busiest I’ve ever been and raising a toddler and growing another baby and doing all the life things! I have had some of the most wonderful couples cross my path in the last two years, and I am more in love with what I do than ever before.

Kat and Richard (who I also had the pleasure of photographing in the middle of winter for a snowboarding engagement session!) met me at Sapphire Point in Dillon, Colorado for an amazing sunset engagement session. This session is making me especially happy right now because it’s making me feel warm summer vibes, and I’ve been pretty miserable since it hasn’t been warmer than 20s-30s in the last week. I love winter in the mountains, but I am OVER IT in the city. Summer, I miss you and I am ready for your ridiculously hot desert like temps. But anywho…we shot for a while at Sapphire Point, and went up to Loveland Pass for a few more. I love doing this because if you time it right you can get the prettiest light in both places, since Loveland Pass is only only a 20 minute drive up the road. Finally, because I was heading back to Breckenridge anyways, we stopped at Lake Dillon for what might be my favorite photos of the entire session. I love these two and I can’t wait to celebrate this weekend!

Loveland Pass Engagement - Sapphire Point Engagement Session - Colorado Engagement Photographer - Haley & Andrew

For this session I broke my own personal rule about no sunrise sessions in the middle of winter, only because it can be so miserable for everyone involved (think cold hands, feet, noses, all of it) However, Haley and Andrew absolutely LOVEE winter. So much so, that they purposely planned their wedding in the mountains during the coldest month of the year! I am personally super excited, because I absolutely love winter weddings. There is something about how romantic and calm they feel, and the snow just gives everything a beautiful glow.

For Haley and Andrews sunrise winter engagement session we met up on Loveland Pass right before the sun came up. It was a stunning morning. To have the alpenglow in your photos makes the early morning all worth while. I’ve said it a million times, but there really is nothing better than the colors and feel of sunrise engagement sessions. It’s so serene and peaceful, and we got really lucky with the most beautiful colors that morning! After that, we went to Sapphire Point, which overlooks Lake Dillon and was absolutely stunning as well.

I cant wait to celebrate Haley and Andrews Breckenridge winter wedding this weekend! Stay tuned for more pics from their day, and if you’d like to have a winter engagement session at Sapphire Point or Loveland Pass definitely reach out! I’d love to freeze my butt off with you ;)
