Spring is finally here and Denver and it's been so nice, because I've been able to go out and play with all my couples! The thing I love most about summer engagement sessions in Colorado (besides the fact that its so much warmer!) is the light - golden hour in the mountains is so beautiful and the sun seems to be in the perfect spot in the sky.
I also love sunrise engagement sessions in the summer because for one its waaay warmer and two, I love how quiet and peaceful the early morning can be. Colorado is a beautiful place to go hiking, and everyone seems to know it, so trails and parks can get pretty crowded in the afternoons. I always try and encourage my couples, especially ones that can be particularly camera shy, to aim for a sunrise session. I know - sunrise in the summer is like 5:30 am, and that's sooo incredibly early, but it ends up being 100% worth it because we have the trail to ourselves, which means no gawkers and/or photo bombers.
If you're thinking of having an outdoor engagement session somewhere in Colorado, or if you have one coming up with me, don't hesitate to reach out! I have tons of ideas, and even recently blogged some of my favorite engagement session locations. Ted and Rachel had their hiking engagement session in Garden of the Gods, and they handled the chilly weather beautifully! We had a great time walking around and laughing. I can't wait for more mountain engagement sessions this summer!
