Colorado Airbnb Wedding - Winter Park Colorado Wedding - Regan and Aaron

Most people don’t know this, but one of the best parts about Colorado is that fact that you can rent an airbnb in the woods, invite a few of your closest family and friends, and get married! You don’t even have to have an officiant, as we are one of the few states where you can self-solemnize - or have your dog be your witness!

I’m currently working on a master list of airbnb/vrbo rentals in Colorado that allow small weddings/receptions, but if you are currently considering it please reach out! I have a plethora of ideas and personally, I love this route more than your traditional wedding venue. All too often what I see is folks getting wayyy too worked up over the small details and forgetting the real reason they are there, which is to get married! When you keep things simple, and reduce the amount of people/details/overall agenda, you end up with celebrating your marriage to each other and not just the wedding.

Regan and Aaron went this route and there was no shortage of emotions that day. From a super touching ceremony, to beer pong with friends, to a heart felt serenade from her dad, this wedding had it all.

Della Terra Mountain Chateau - Estes Park Wedding Photographer - Elise & Eriksen

This was one of my favorite weddings of 2019. To start, I absolutely love Della Terra Weddings. Not only is the venue absolutely beautiful but the staff is amazing and all of the weddings there go off without a hitch. It’s also in Estes Park, which is also one of my favorite Colorado mountain towns, and home to the always amazing Rocky Mountain National Park.

This Estes Park wedding was wonderful because there was just so much emotion, everything ranging from tears to laughter, playfulness to drunken hilarity. One of my favorite parts of the day was when the man of honor (Elise’s brother) pulled out what he thought were Elise’s vows, but they actually weren’t, so a couple of Elise’s friends ran back to Della Terra and to grab the actual vows. The pause during that moment was filled with lighthearted bantering, and it made for some really lovely candid shots.

Another favorite part was the fact that everyone was super into the lawn games they had set up outside for guests. We watched an amazing game of Jenga between family members and friends, and then finished the night up with some epic dancing. Weddings like these fly by for me and sometimes it doesn’t even feel like work, because they’re so fun!
